Holidays About Positivity

It's true - holidays for the glass half full mindset. Tomorrow, September 13, is National Positive Thinking Day. I didn't even know about it until the face of positivity herself told me about it last week. Yep, my momma. She asked me for an idea because she wanted to spread positivity at her work for the "national holiday" coming up. Seriously though, my mom is the definition of positivity. She's always spreading kindness in one way or another and I never noticed how much I admire the effect it can have on others. It always seems to come natural to her and it's contagious to everyone she meets. My mom can spark up a great conversation with anyone. Fortunately, it rubbed off on me too because I think this is one of my greatest strengths.

In all hopes to spread kindness, sometimes it doesn't come all too naturally. It's easy to be selfish over our own thoughts, until we bottle them up to the point of taking out our negativity on others. Positivity is not always being bright and chipper all the time - but it can mean recognizing negative thoughts and shifting them to be uplifting.

Recognizing this is so so so important. It's OK to be in a bad mood for no reason. The key is to know when you're in a bad mood. Was there something that triggered it? Are you feeling like you can't shake it? Are you tired or hungry? (And that's usually the case)...

It's okay not to love yourself sometimes. It's okay to put others before you sometimes. It's okay to skip a workout or forget to take off your make-up sometimes. But if you're feeling positive - reach out to people. Give a hello to more strangers. Tip a little extra. Take it all in when it's there. And notice how you feel when it's there - how badly you want to keep it there, and how badly others may need it too even if you don't know it.

HAPPY POSITIVE THINKING DAY. KINDNESS IS CONTAGIOUS. GO SPREAD IT.

And enjoy the 4 of 24 posters I made for the office tomorrow. :)
