"Where do you see yourself in 5 years?"

Deep question. Much thinking involved. Brain hurting.

For me, not really. I know this is where I wanted to be. See that little skyline off in the distance? That's Minneapolis. Home of the ViQueens stadium, home of the best farmer's markets, but also home of where I now get to work everyday. If you read my blogs, you know I didn't have a job about a month ago. Back track to October 16th when I took this photo, not knowing where life was going to take me. I was doing some interviews, visiting coffee shops all day, writing, resume-ing.

The week I took this photo, I had an interview, and I was asked "Where do you see yourself in 5 years?" Right away, I honestly didn't know how to answer this. I went on with the mumbo jumbo about working my way up in the business field, which is also the goal and not really mumbo, just jumbo. But, later that week, I sat on a bench, and I looked at this view. The answer was clear. This is where I see myself in 5 years. This is where I see myself in 10 years. I have fallen in love with a place. A location on Google maps. A city where people are bustling, horns are honkin', and offices leave their lights on at night so the skyline is always pretty and glowing.

Fast forward. >>> I have a freaking job at an amazing Ad agency downtown Minneapolis. Little did I know I was a city girl at heart, but I got my first "big girl job" in a place where I can surround myself with awesome people that will help me grow.

This is the start of something beautiful.
