Um...I'm left handed?

What is special about me? Good question. You know those fun ice breakers that everyone loves and the usual question - "let's go around the room, say your name, and one thing unique about you." UGH NO. Why is this ever a good idea. This is where I can't pay attention to anyone else because I'm too busy coming up with something unique about me in my head before I have to say it out loud. Well, I am left handed...but so are 4 other people in the room. I pole vaulted in high school? Yes, cool, but that was also four years ago and I feel like I'm just admitting that I'm stuck in my glory days..those are gone. Then, of course, the guy next to me sky dived in Africa. Great. Good for him. I'm next.

What I'm saying is; I may not hold the most unique qualities but I do have one thing. I have a story. I have created myself a wondrous tale to tell and I am happy to tell it to the world. I may be average, but I am courageous. I'm curious. I ask questions. I think within my 22 years of life, I'm pretty happy with where I am at and I'm excited about the stories I can tell 5 years down the road, heck, even 50 years down the road.

All I know, is it's going to be a good one.

Each day I have the opportunity to write my own story. Life gets boring if I tell myself it's boring. I'm kicking those days to the curb. I'm going to do more of what can contribute to an amazing story and less of what I used to consider "boring." I will read more books, explore new places, release endorphins, spend beautiful days outside, and hoard more plants. I hope more people ask each other what their story is. I hope people raise their hands up high in order to go first. Maybe your'e ambidextrous and you can write your story with both hands. However you do it; make it good. Maybe you have a hard time coming up with something unique about you; but remember the life you are living right now is always unique. You may share that unique quality with someone else, but you will never share the same story.

*Pictured Above* -- I was once in a book store and came across a basket of books titled "Blind Date Books." Each were covered just like the book in the picture: in paper and twine. The inspiration behind these books was to not judge a book by it's cover; literally. I thought this was the coolest thing, so I bought a book! I find myself often judging books by their cover. If it looks appealing and the cover is pretty, it must be good right? Not necessarily. I really did enjoy this book and I loved the concept! Although I didn't get dinner and a movie out of it, I think my date went pretty well.
