Maybe your first thought is, "Why is her blog named how to like coffee when she's holding tea in the photo? Does she know what coffee is?" My answer to you is yes, I just happen to only have a cool picture of me holding tea so far. I'll tell you how coffee entered my life. It all started with my long days at work. I've been putting in extra hours and hey, a girl gets tired. Sometimes I'm not a grandma and I go to bed late. Sometimes I wake up at 5am to workout (sometimes). To be honest, tea tastes like leafy water and I have never liked coffee so I was running out of options. Since I've entered a world full of coffee shops everywhere I look I thought maybe it was time to give it a try. Besides, my dad is starting to make feel bad every time he asks if I want a cup of coffee with him when I'm home. The answer is always no and I just want to be a good daughter and surprise him someday.

So as I'm sitting at work and the eyes are heavy, I decide to google it. "How to Like Coffee." To my surprise, I got a great tutorial including a step-by-step process. If I'm going to drink coffee, I don't want the froofroo drinks. I want to be sophisticated. Since "add sugar and cream," "make your own roasts," "try every bean until you find the right one," wasn't fitting my qualifications, I decided to start off by going black. The smell, yes please, but the taste, no thanks. But, I figured this would be the best way to start. I sipped and sipped until it was halfway tolerable.

I could tell it helped wake me up and energize me for my day. I feel guilty because I've spent my entire college career without it, so why did I need it now? Maybe it's just the thought of having something warm to hold when the weather gets chilly or the thought of sipping on a cup with my dad. I'm sick of pretending to like tea so I'm learning how to like coffee. This is where I vow to never spend more than $2.50 on any beverage (besides beer). Oh, I'm writing this at a Starbucks so we're off to a good start. So, once I figure out how to love coffee I will write you a step-by-step tutorial.
